About Dylan Carmichael
The human-friendly IT Guy
I was born in Melbourne, but raised on the Northwest coast of Tasmania. I grew up around computers,
my family owned one since I was 2, which sparked my love affair with the realm of IT very early on.
At age 10, a cousin and I created a text-adventure written in BASIC, and that was my first introduction to
programming. At 16, I discovered that my original plan of working in medicine wouldn't work out, when I
couldn't stand dissections in Biology. But luckily I had a fall-back plan I knew I would love...
Computing was always a passion of mine,and at 17 I built my first computer, I went to TAFE full time,
and upon completion of my studies there, I approached the university to enrol in the Bachelor of
Computing, which I completed at the end of 2007. I was awarded a Bachelor of Computing with First
Class Honours in 2008.
